Buwambo United FC defeated Simba FC 1-0 to be crowned winners of the Buganda Regional League 2025/26 at Buwambo grounds.
Abubakari Kalungi scored the all important goal to clinch the hard fought victory that eventually led them to the championship.
Prior to the final game of the season, both Simba FC and Buwambo United FC were tied on 64 points from 28 games but Simba FC led the table with a superior goal difference.
Now after being crowned the winners of the Buganda Regional League, Buwambo United FC will face off with Black Stars FC, the winners of the Kampala Regional League.
Black Stars FC defeated Edgars FC 1-0 the be crowned winners of the Kampala Regional League for the 2025/26 season.
The first FUFA Big League promotional play off final will be hosted by Black Star FC on Sunday 13th June at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku.
Buwambo United FC will host the return leg on Saturday 20th- June at Buwambo.
The aggregate winner will automatically earn a FUFA Big League promotion.
