Eight time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have unveiled Joel Sserunjogi as their first signing.

Sserunjogi joins the Venoms as a free agent following expiration of his employment contract at KCCA FC at the end of last season.

He has put pen to paper on a three year deal at the eight time Uganda Premier League champions and is expected to fill the void left by Taddeo Lwanga who completed a move to AFC Leopards of Kenya.

Sserunjogi has also been handed shirt 6 which Lwanga donned last season, Siraje Ssentamu also put on the same number during his time at the club.

Newly appointed Venoms coach, Denis Lavagne dubbed Sserunjogi as an intelligent player.

“Joel is a player with intelligence, personality and great technical quality. John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda spoke very highly of him and, after studying his qualities, it was clear he possesses the attributes we want in this team. He will add balance and creativity to our midfield, and we are delighted to welcome him to Vipers SC.” Lavagne noted

Sserunjogi also expressed his delight upon completing the move to Kitende.

“I’m somebody who goes with my gut feeling a lot of the time and I feel like it’s steered me in the right direction so far,”Said Sserunjogi as quoted by Vipers website

Sserunjogi is former Busiro Ssaza team player where he won the 2022 Masaza Cup title and also featured for Kajjansi United in the Buganda Regional League before joining KCCA FC.
