Masaza Cup semi-final first leg

•Kyaggwe 2-1 Buweekula
Kyaggwe and Buddu moved a step closer to reaching the 2024 Buganda Masaza Cup final with semifinal first leg wins against Buweekula and Kyaddondo respectively.
Steven Nyalimu inspired a comeback win for Kyaggwe in their 2-1 semifinal first leg in Mukono on Sunday.
Herbert Asiimwe had given Buweekula an early lead in the second minute of the contest.
Nyalimu levelled matters for the home side in the first period before completing his brace early into the second period.
Victory for Kyaggwe also ends Buweekula’s unbeaten run to this year’s championship.
Kyaggwe under the stewardship of David Mutono are searching for their first ever final while Felik Ssekabuza’s Buweekula have work to do in the return leg due next Sunday if they are to reach a third Masaza Cup final having reached the 2012 and 2021 finals before.
Meanwhile in the other semi-final, Buddu took full control after their 3-1 win over Kyaddondo at Muteesa II Stadium.
Buddu who are two time competition champions came from a goal down to cruise to a victory.
Kayongo Michael and Mike Walaga scored the three goals for the 2016 and 2021 champions. Isaac Ssenyunja had given hosts Kyaddondo the lead.
The two sides will next face off on Sunday in the return fixture at Kitovu to determine who progresses to the final due on November, 2nd 2024.
