2024 Masaza Cup Final
•Buddu Vs Kyaggwe at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole @3PM
Buddu will be aiming for a third Masaza Cup triumph when they face off with Kyaggwe who are in search of their maiden trophy.
The Masaza Cup Final returns to Namboole since the 2019 edition when Bulemeezi cruised to a 1-0 win over Busiro.
When Namboole was under refurbishment, the 2020 and 2021 editions were staged at St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende while the 2022 and 2023 finals were held at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
Namboole on the other hand has previously hosted the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions.
This is the fourth Masaza Cup that Buddu will be playing at Namboole having previously featured in the 2015, 2016 and 2018 Finals. They won once against Gomba during the 2016 edition and lost twice to Ssingo in 2015 and 2018 respectively.
Buddu finished top of Bulange Group that had Kyaddondo, Butambala, Bulemeezi, Bugerere and Buluuli.
Kyaggwe were in Mungazirwaza Group alongside Ssingo, Buweekula, Gomba, Mawogola and Kooki. They finished third and progressed to the quarterfinals as one of the best two third placed teams.
To reach the finals, Buddu under the stewardship of Simon Dungu alias Ddungu a Masaza Cup winner with Gomba in 2017 they beat Kabula and Kyaddondo in quarterfinal and semifinal respectively.
Kyaggwe prevailed to the final after overcoming Ssingo and Buweekula in the quarterfinal and semifinal stage respectively. They progressed 2-1 on aggregate at both occasions.
Buddu are contesting in their seventh final after 2015, 2016, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022 and have only won twice (2016 and 2021).
Kyaggwe are in their first ever final and their skipper Julius Kato can make history by lifting the trophy on their maiden appearance.
Before the final match, Buweekula will battle with Kyaddondo in the third place playoff.
