David GOMBE Uganda’s Women’s National basketball team, the Gazelles have failed to qualify for the 2023 FIBA Women Afrobasket after losing to Egypt in a Zone V Championship Final on Sunday evening at Lugogo. The Gazelles only needed a win to book their ticket to the Afrobasket in Kigali but lost 74-65. David GOMBE Vipers SC played out to a goalless draw with Guinea’s Horoya AC in their CAF Champions group C contest at the St.Mary’s Stadium in Kitende. David GOMBE Double Commonwealth Champion Jacob Kiplimo clinched the 2023 World Cross Country title at Mount Panorama in Bathurst, Australia on Saturday morning. Kiplimo beat compatriot and defending champion Joshua Cheptegei to the title in a time of 29min, 17 sec. Ethiopia’s Berihu Aregawi finished in second with Cheptegei taking bronze. Four years ago, Cheptegei who is the World record holder at the 10000m and 5000m won the 10k race in Denmark with Kiplimo finishing second.
