Buwekula complete double over Buddu as Mawokota returns to winning ways

Buwekula completed a double over Buddu on Sunday during their second round meeting of 2023 Masaza Cup at Masaka Recreation grounds on Sunday.

Nsubuga Martin first half goal was enough to inspire Buwekula to maximum points in the entertaining Masengere Group contest.

Frank Mulindwa coached side also won the first leg meeting in Mubende. Victory also sees Buwekula claim top spot in the group and are now on 15 points.

Buddu are now second on 12 points they have accumulated in 7 games in Masengere Group.

In the same group, Kyaggwe beat Kooki 2-0 courtesy of Yusuf Mukwana and Julius Kalule Kato goals while Kyadondo played out to a 1-1 draw with Buluuli.

Mawokota were the biggest winners of the weekend beating Kabula 3-0 in Muganzirwa Group contest at Buwama.

Goals from Kayondo Joseph, Kidega Godfrey and Muwayira Brain ensured that the three time Masaza Cup champions return to winning ways.

Mawokota had last maximized points against Gomba.

Record winners Gomba settle for a 1-1 stalemate with Mawogola at Kabulasoke playgrounds.

Kambugu Lawrence scored for Gomba with Baluku Arafat restoring parity for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Ssingo continued with the fine form with a narrow win over Buvuma at Mityana Ssaza Grounds. Erias Kayemba netted the only goal of the contest.

Ssingo are top of Bulange with 16 points and are on course for a place in the knockout phase.

The other game in Bulange Group saw Bulemeezi and Bugerere played out to a goalless stalemate at Kasana playground.
