Express FC players are on a strike over unpaid four month arrears just days to the resumption of the Uganda Premier league.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that only eight players turned up for Tuesday’s training sessions at Makindye Barracks.

According to reliable sources, after the club’s win over Kajjansi United in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Sunday, the players told the club CEO Isaac Mwesigwa that they want their arrears settled before returning to training ahead of the second round.

The players also went on to demand a meeting with the club chairman Kiryowa Kiwanuka before their game against UPDF FC on Saturday at the Muteesa II Stadium.
