Dungu set to replace Mwebaze at Mbale Heroes

FUFA Big League side Mbale Heroes are set to appoint Simon Dungu alias Dunga as their new head coach.

On Tuesday, Mbale Heroes head coach Asaph Mwebaze confirmed his departure at the Mbale based side.

Mwebaze took over helms at club in September, last year replacing Abbey Kikomeko who joined Uganda Premier league side BUL FC.

Swift Sports Uganda understands that Dungu is expected to return to Mbale Heroes and replace Mwebaze at the club as they aim to gain topflight status.

In the a meantime the club is currently under the stewardship of assistant coach Edgar Sharp Bwogi.

Dungu who now manages Regional league side Ntugasaze has previously served as head coach at Singo Ssaza team, Busiro, Mawogola, Mawokota and Gomba in the prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup.

During the 2017 edition, Dungu guided Gomba to the Masaza Cup triumph and also won the competition as assistant coach to Edward Golola at Mawokota in 2013.

He has also formerly managed KJT, Regional side Kiyinda Boys FC and Nkozi University.
