Canadian Premier League club Vancouver FC has announced the signing of Ugandan defender Allan Enyou on a one year loan deal from Spanish side CD Leganes B.

This is Enyou’s second loan move from Leganes B having spent the closing stages of last year at SK Super Nova in the Latvian topflight league.

The former KCCA defender has expressed his delight upon his loan transfer to the North American country.

“I am very excited to represent Vancouver FC and play in Canada this year,” said Enyou.

“I’m very grateful for the opportunities I’ve had up to this point and I’m looking forward to gaining first team experience with Vancouver FC,” added Enyou.

For starters, Enyou is a former student of Dynamic SS and a graduate of Maroons Junior Team. He burst onto the scene with KCCA during the Cambiasso and Rainbow tournament held in Tanzania in 2022.

He went on to join Elite Falcons FC of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Division Two before signing for CD Leganes B last year.

After making his debut in May last year against UD Melilla in the Spanish Segunda Division, Enyou was sent out on loan to Latvia’s SK Super Nova and went on to play 10 games before returning to Spain.

Vancouver Head Coach Afshin Ghotbi has described Enyou as a player with world class potential.

“Highly recruited and possessing world-class potential, Allan will add to the already improved defense of Vancouver FC,” said Vancouver’s Head Coach Afshin Ghotbi on Enyou.

“Allan has pace, power, and football intelligence to give us versatility and depth in the backline,” said Ghotbi. “I look forward to Allan’s contributions and growth at Vancouver FC in 2024.” he added.

Enyou has previously been summoned for the Uganda Hippos (U-20) and the senior team Uganda Cranes in January and May last year, respectively.

Vancouver FC, formed 18 months ago in November 2022, currently competes in the top tier of the Canadian soccer league system.

The club is based in Langley, British Columbia and plays their home matches at the Willoughby Community Park stadium.

Enyou is expected to debut when Vancouver FC host Atletico Ottawa in a league encounter on Sunday May 12th.
