FUFA summons Onduparaka FC for failure to honour Uganda Cup Fixture

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations Disciplinary panel has summoned Big League side Onduparaka FC for failure to honour their Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 64 tie.

Onduparaka who were to visit Kyambura Rasters failed to honour the fixture on 31st January 2024.

Following the Caterpillars failure to honour the fixture; FUFA now draws Onduparaka’s attention to the following provisions in article 15 of the FUFA competitions rules 2023.

“15(36) The Uganda Cup is compulsory for clubs in the 1st and 2nd divisions at round of 64 and 3rd division clubs at lower rounds and optional for other clubs.

“15(37) Any club in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd division leagues that does not participate in this competition shall be liable for disciplinary action.

The disciplinary action may include

-Deduction of league points
-Monetary fines
-Future exclusion from the competition
-Suspension from the respective league
-Demotion to lower league.

Onduparaka therefore has been invited to submit a written statement to the FUFA disciplinary panel to clarify, contend or dispute their actions by Thursday, 8th February 2024.

The development comes after Onduparaka’s neighbors Arua Hill were demoted to the 2024/25 FUFA Big League for failure to fulfill the club licensing requirements for the second round of the Uganda Premier league.
