Interim KCCA FC head coach Jackson Mayanja has this evening lost his first points since taking over from Morley Byekwaso.

He came into this game at the back of back to back victories over SC Villa and Gaddafi FC.

They threw away a two goal lead to draw against Onduparaka FC, a side that has never picked a point at Lugogo since their elevation to the topflight league. In fact, KCCA FC has beaten them on 9 occasions out of the previous 12 meetings.

A furious Mayanja pointed out that his substitutions did not do enough to protect the work already done by their compatriots whom they replaced.

Allan Okello and Moses Waiswa had scored two second half goals to put KCCA in the driving seat but a lapse in concentration saw Emmanuel Oketch score two late goals to snatch a point for the visitors.

Emmanuel Wasswa and Ashraf Mugume replaced Allan Okello and Denis Iguma late in the game.

“I think my substitutes did not do enough, we had some tired legs due to the tight fixture and I decided to make some changes but they did not perform to my expectation and we threw away the points”

Mayanja however remains optimistic that the title challenge is still on and KCCA have a massive opportunity to recover when they face Vipers SC on Friday.

“That’s football, anything can happen and I believe we can still bounce back against Vipers SC at Kitende in a do or die affair.”

” If Villa managed to recover from the 4-1 thumping we inflicted on them and they beat Vipers at Wankulukuku, why not us? ”

Mayanja added in the post match press briefing published by the club media on their YouTube channel https://youtu.be/-rPa23YTYL4

KCCA will next face defending champions Vipers at Kitende on Friday.

They currently sit second on the log with 45 points, just one behind Villa who have played a game more.
