Onyango hails Uganda Cranes official sponsors Airtel

On Friday evening, the Uganda National team’s official sponsors, Airtel hosted the Uganda Cranes players who represented at the 32nd edition of the AFCON for an exclusive dinner at Serena Hotel, Kampala.

The function was attended by various dignitaries who included Hajji Zubair Galiwango, V.G.Somasekhar (Airtel Managing Director), Rogers Byamukama (Head of Marketing and chairman licensing committee at FUFA) and Musician Eddy Kenzo.

Players led by Denis Onyango, Hassan Wasswa, Farouk Miya, Emmanuel Arnold Okwi, Tadeo Lwanga, Isaac Muleme and Allan Kateregga, coaches Matia Lule and Fred Kajoba were in attendance.

Uganda Cranes captain Onyango applauded Airtel Uganda for the tremendous support rendered towards the National team.

“I thank Airtel for the support rendered to us, they have been fantastic ever since they came to board to sponsor the team, we are so grateful.”

I thank all Ugandans for the amazing support rendered to us during the Africa Cup of Nations from the start until when our journey came to an end.”

Airtel injects 2.5 billion every year in the Uganda Cranes and also supports grassroot football through Airtel Rising Stars initiative and are the main sponsors Buganda’s premier competition Masaza Cup.
