Record winners Kitende to face current holders Kibuli in 2023 FEASSSA Games

Record FEASSSA boy’s football winners St.Mary’s Kitende have been drawn in the same group with reigning champions Kibuli SS.

The 2023 East Africa Secondary Schools games will be held in Rwanda from Wednesday 16th to 27th August.

Kibuli are the reigning East Africa Secondary Schools football champions will face off with Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association champions and 13 time East African Champions Kitende in Group B.

The group also has Ecosemusabura from host nation Rwanda and Tanzania’s Kiwira Coal Mine. The fifth school will be determined after the Kenya national qualifiers are done.

Meanwhile, Group A has Uganda’s other representatives Amus College and St.Henry’s College Kitovu alongside hosts CGFK Kicukiro and Tanzania’s Kalangala SS.

Kibuli beat Kenya’s Highway Secondary 2-0 at the previous edition that was held in Arusha, Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Uganda finished as the overall winners in 2022 after clinching a total of 18 gold medals, 19 silvers and 13 bronze medals.

The gold medals came in Football (Boys and Girls),Rugby 7s, Netball, Basketball (3X3 and 5×5) for both boys and girls, Rugby 15s, Badminton, Hockey (Boys and Girls), Lawn Tennis (Boys), Table Tennis (Boys and Girls), Swimming (Boys) and Athletics (Girls).

Kenya was second with 5 gold, 12 silver and 3 bronze while host Tanzania managed 1 silver and 5 bronze.
