Vipers sign experienced Angolan striker Nelito

Four time league champions Vipers SC have announced the signing of Angola striker Nelione Jose Tavares on a two year deal.

The 31 year old has been on the books of Angola Premier league side Kabuscorp Sport Clube Do Palancaon.

He has also previously played for Interclube FF, Cuando Cubango and ASA all in Angola.

At the unveiling of the Angolan, Vipers head coach Roberto Oliviera Martinez expressed high optimism in the new striker and also revealed that he worked with him for over 6 years.

“We’re delighted to have Tavares. I worked with him close to 6yrs and when we requested management to sign him, they did so. We’re pleased that his finally here. He is an important addition to our squad mostly upfront.”

The experienced striker will battle for a starting place with the already established forwards at Vipers like reigning Uganda Premier league top scorer Yunus Sentamu, the ever improving Ceaser Manzoki and Daniel Mzee Serunkuuma.

Vipers will start their 5th title quest tomorrow at home to Police FC.
