WAKISO GIANTS 2-1 PROLINE: Sekajugo late penalty breaks Proline’s tough challenge

Referee Joseph Ochom has been at the center of controversy after failing to award Wakiso Giants two legitimate first half penalties and later on in the dying minutes of the game, he went on to award a questionable one.

There was relatively minimal contact on substitute Karim Ndugwa by Mustafa Mujuzi and the referee pointed to the spot which resultant kick was flawlessly converted by the striker.

Sekajugo had given Wakiso Giants an early lead in the 9th minute.

The home side couldn’t preserve their lead up to the half time break with Bright Anukani scoring his first of the season to level matters.

The second period became an end to end affair with Proline dominating affairs for larger spells.

Edirisa Lubega missed a glorious opportunity to put Proline in the lead when he beat Hassan Wasswa for pace but he could not keep himself on the feet.

With the match headed for a stalemate, Karim Ndugwa received a precise pass in the penalty area, he accelerated for goal but Mujuzi Mustafa slightly brought him down and consequently Ochom pointed to the area.

The victory elavates Wakiso Giants to 6th on log and also relieves Kefa Kisala off some pressure after being booed by the fans when the game was still 1-1.

Proline remain pointless despite already winning twice. They were docked 6 points for failure to honor their home fixture against SC Villa.
