Wakiso Giants end KCCA FC’s fine run

John Luyinda’s Wakiso Giants ended KCCA FC’s fine form with a 2-1 victory at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium on Saturday.

Kenneth Kimera and Samson Kigozi maximized points for the Purple Sharks.

Ashraf Mugume found a consolation for the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions.

Before the defeat to Wakiso Giants, KCCA FC had won their previous four games.

Kimera fired the home side into the lead in the 24 minute to send the Wakiso Giants faithfuls into a frenzy.

At the hour mark, Kigozi doubled the Purple Sharks’ lead after KCCA FC goalkeeper Derrick Ochan failed to deal with Tom Masiko’s free kick.

Both Kigozi and Masiko were facing their former paymasters.

Mugume pulled one back for Abdallah Mubiru coached side towards the end of the contest.

KCCA who suffered their eighth defeat of the season end the first round in 9th place with 19 points while Wakiso are 12th with 16 points.
