Sam Ssimbwa appointed as Maroons head coach

Sam Ssimbwa has been appointed as Maroons FC new head coach ahead of the second round of the 2022/23 season.

Ssimbwa replaces Senfuma Muhammad at the helms of the Luzira based side.

Senfuma was sacked at Maroons after the end of the first round. The tactician played a key role for Maroons as they gained topflight status.

Ssimbwa returns to football management since his departure at Uganda Revenue Authority Football club in 2021.

He has previously coached at Express, Sports Club Villa Jogoo, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Mbale Heroes, Masaka Local Council, Health FC, Top TV, Soana, Atraco (Rwanda), Police (Rwanda), Sports Club Victoria University, Simba, Somalia National team, Sofapaka (Kenya) and lately URA FC.

Meanwhile, Maroons FC have also appointed Rodrick Muhumuza as their new chief executive officer, replacing Pius Bamwenge.

Maroons finished the first round of the season in 10th position with 15 points.
