Jamal Salim, Ochaya return as Micho names squad to face Tanzania

Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic has named a 30-man provisional squad that will face Tanzania in a double header of the Total Energies AFCON Qualifiers.

The squad consists of goalkeeper Jamal Salim Magoola who is making a return to the Cranes squad as well as roving left back Joseph Ochaya.

Both players have enjoyed a scintillating form at club level for Richards Bay (Jamal Salim) in South Africa and Arab Contractors (Ochaya) in Egypt.

The squad also has strikers Fahad Bayo, Steven Mukwala and Sadat Anaku as well as Hippos players Travis Mutyaba, Rogers Mugisha and Rogers Torach.

Preparations will kick start next next week for the double header that will see Uganda host from Egypt before visiting Tanzania.

The first leg will be played at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium on 27th March before traveling to Dar es Salaam four days later.

The local based players will play a regional tour game against Kitara region on Friday, 17th in Bundibugyo district.

The team will enter residential camp on Wednesday, 15th March at Cranes Paradise Hotel, Kisasi before traveling to Bundibugyo on Friday.

The foreign based players summoned will join the rest of the squad in Cairo direct from their respective clubs.

The Cranes sit bottom of the Group F table with only a point after two games played. Algeria lead with six points, Niger and Tanzania have two and one respectively.
