KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has resigned from his role at the 13 time Uganda Premier league champions.

Byekwaso confirmed the development after his side were eliminated by Soltilo Bright Stars in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Sunday at Kavumba Recreation grounds.

Nordin Bunjo scored the all important goal as Bright Stars sealed a place into the Semifinals.

KCCA FC forward Tshisungu Kakonde had his penalty saved by Bright Stars’ custodian Hassan Matovu.

Byekwaso stated that he took the decision to resign because of player power

“I have taken my decision as a coach, today have resigned because I am seeing player power into the team. I am not going to go on facing such situations, when we train, we give every player a role to play but once a player does not respect that role it brings that dis-organisation into the game. This is what we faced because of indiscipline, I cannot go on.” Said Byekwaso

Byekwaso’s resignation comes days after this website revealed that he was at loggerheads with senior players at the club.

KCCA FC are currently second on the Uganda Premier league log, having collected 38 points from 19 matches. They are five points below leaders SC Villa who have two more games.
