Mayanja targets successive victories as KCCA make tough visit to Gaddafi

KCCA FC will be seeking a second successive victory under new coach Jackson Mayanja as they visit Wasswa Bbosa’s Gaddafi FC at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja.

Jackson Mayanja targets back to back wins

Mayanja’s first game was a 4-1 win over SC Villa last week courtesy of goals from Simon Kankonde, Saidi Mayanja, Rogers Mato and Julius Poloto.

Their hosts Gaddafi come into the encounter seeking reprieve after losing 2-1 to Arua Hill in the previous game in Arua.

In case of victory, KCCA can go top of the table if SC Villa lose against Vipers in the other game scheduled for today.

KCCA currently sit second on the table with 41 points from 21 games while Gaddafi are 10th on 29 points from 22 games.

Team News

Gaddafi continue life without the injured duo of Latif Kiyemba and Ibrahim Kiyemba while Elvis Ngonde is suspended after being sent off in the defeat to Arua Hill.

KCCA will be without one of their best performers this season in Rogers Mato who got a muscle injury.

Usama Arafati returns from illness, John Revita is a long term absentee while Faizal Wabyoona is on the road to recovery.

Head To Head

KCCA will be seeking for their first double over Gaddafi after winning the reverse fixture 2-1 at Lugogo thanks to goals from Brian Majwega and Allan Okello while Alex Kitatta got the goal for Gaddafi.

KCCA have won two of the three meetings with Gaddafi while the latter have won once.

Last season Gaddafi beat KCCA 1-0 at the Gaddafi Arena courtesy of Kitatta’s first half goal.
