Simon Tamale among Fortebet Real Stars for May

The organisers of the Fortebet Real Stars monthly awards have named the winners for the month of May.

The outstanding performers for the month of May were rewarded on Tuesday, June 6th at Lazio Restaurant in Kampala.

Winners from five sports disciplines namely Rugby, football, Netball, Basketball and Motorsport were rewarded with plaques and cash.

In basketball, Mary Moses Amaniyo (St.Mary’s SS Kitende) was named the best of May for her outstanding performances at the 2023 Fresh Diary Secondary Schools Association Games that were held in Ntare School, Mbarara City.

Amaniyo beat Peter Cheng (Nam-Blazers) and Diana Letaru (KIU Rangers) to the accolade.

National Insurance Corporation Netball club and St.Noa Girls School player Gloria Aya scooped the Netball gong.

She was the most valuable player at the 2023 East Africa Netball championship in Nairobi City. She beat Racheal Nanyonga and Stella Nanfuka to the award.

Maroons goalkeeper Simon Tamale who had 12 clean sheets in the league was the best football player of the May.

He came top ahead of Vipers SC skipper Milton Karisa and Kitara FC midfieder Paul Mucureezi.

In Rugby, Ivan Magomu (Stanbic Bank Pirates Rugby Club) was the outstanding performer.

He beat teammates Ivan Kabagambe and Moses Zziwa who were instrumental for Stanbic Bank Pirates as they won the 2022/24 National Rugby Premiership title.

Yasin Nasser and Ali Katumba were the best Rally crew of May. Nasser and Katumba, beat Bryon Rugomoka and Hakim Mawanda as well as Duncan Mubiru and Joseph Bongole crews to the accolade.
