With the uncertainty hovering around the future of Jackson Magera gaining massive momentum, Swift Sports Uganda understands that record league champions SC Villa have opted to turn on of their own to take over the helms.

Former KCCA FC head coach Morley Byekwaso has been identified as the man to return the Jogoos to the glory days.

Byekwaso was sacked just 5 matches into the second half of the season after his team threw away their table leadership.

It has been established that the club management has decided against Magera’s contract and will leave.

His assistant Ibrahim Kirya has reportedly been approached by URA FC and he is most likely to join their technical team.

Byekwaso is a Villa legend having played for the club between 2002 and 2005 where he won two league titles and a CECAFA club championship.

He has coached at SC Victoria University and KCCA FC.

In 2021 the soft spoken tactician guided the national U-20 men’s team to the final of AFCON and also saw them qualify for the FIFA World cup.
