Mawokota North Member of Parliament, Hillary Kiyaga Innocent alias Dr.Hilderman has boosted Mawokota’s preparations ahead of the 2023 Masaza Cup opener against Busiro on Saturday, 24th at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
His Majesty the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II will grace the opening.
Hon.Kiyaga has catered for the transport costs for his constituents who will travel from areas Mpigi, Kamengo, Muduma, Nsamizi and Kilingente among other areas to watch the game on Saturday.
The legislator also supported the team financially and pledged more support to the team during the tournament.
“I call upon my constituents to storm Wankulukuku on Saturday for the Masaza Cup opening game. We have to hold His Majesty the Kabaka in high esteem as Mawokotanians.
“We also need to cheer our team and register victory over Busiro as we bid to reach this year’s final and win the trophy for a fourth time.” He said
L.5 Chairman Martin Ssejjemba, Mpigi District Mayor David Mutebi, Hon.Teddy Nambooze, Pride College School Mpigi, Mpigi Mixed also gave supported to the team.
Mawokota are under the stewardship of Richard Malinga and are aiming for their fourth Masaza Cup triumph. They are previous winners in 2005, 2007 and 2013.
Busiro are the defending champions following their 2-1 victory over Buddu in last year’s final.
