Alex Isabirye dedicated the the Pilsner coach of the season award he won recently to David Sserebe a man who gave him chance to be a head coach a role he was handling for first time at URA FC in 2010.
This was through his message as appreciated everyone at Vipers SC with whom they won their first domestic double,
“I am delighted to be recognised as the best coach if the 2022/23 season in the Uganda Premier League end of season awards.”
“I want to dedicate this coach of the season award to Mr David Sserebe who gave me the first chance to serve as Head coach while at URA FC in 2010.”
“Mr Sserebe I thank you because you gave me encouragement, responsibility and entrusted me back then when I started this journey, I am here to tell you that I have never looked back since then. This award is a recognition and reciprocation for your trust in me and the role you played in my coaching career.”
The Buganda Province head coach also appreciated Vipers SC family for the hard work that made it possible,
“I thank my players at Vipers for playing a vital role as we won a historic double, the first one in the club’s history, I thank my fellow coaches and the team doctors who played a critical role when we were struck by an injury crisis.”
“I thank all the staff at Kitende for the appropriate support during the course of the season and everyone who played a role as we won the Uganda Premier League title and the Stanbic Uganda Cup.”
I want to thank the fans for your unwavering support you are special group of people and deserve nothing but happiness you stood by your club celebrated our wins together and shared our losses.”
“I want to thank the club president Dr.Lawrence Mulindwa for always ensuring the club operates in a professional setting.”
Isabirye was also thankful to BUL a side he helped win their first trophy a after defeating Vipers SC 3-1 to emerge Uganda Cup champions in the 2021/22 season
“I also use this opportunity to thank the management, players and coaches of BUL FC your immense contribution can never go unnoticed in this.”
He won the Stanbic Uganda Cup after defeating Police FC 1-0 while Vipers SC were crowned on the last day of the season after defeating Busoga United 5-0 to complete the season top of the table with 53 points same as KCCA FC but with a superior goal difference
