Lwesibawa, Sseruyidde among 16 players released by Kitara

Newly promoted UPL side Kitara FC have confirmed the release of 16 players as the preparations for the upcoming season intesify.

Goalkeeper Micheal Kagiri, Charles Kyomuhendo, Godfrey Lwesibawa, Moses Sseruyidde, Abasi Kateregga, Farouk Katongole, Davis Ssali and Henry Kayondo are some of the players let to go.

The other are Kizito Zakayo, Patrick Mugume, John Stewart Mwesigwa, Sula Ssekamwa, Samuel Adibo, John Wesley Kisakye Ronald Kayondo and Rodgers Lukwiya Onono will also not feature for the Hoima based side next season.

Kitara FC unveiled Ssenyondo as their head coach replacing Sam Ssimbwa who led them to FUFA Big League.

Kitara FC is also constructing Kitara FC Stadium in Butema which is expected to be the home ground for the newly promoted side

They were crowned champions of the FUFA Big League 2022/23 season after topping the table at the end of the season with 61 points from 30 games hence earning automatic UPL promotion.
