Rashid Toha has confirmed that he is leaving Arua Hill following the expiration of his employment contract with the club.
URA FC have emerged as the favourites to land the lanky defender, Swift Sports understands.
Toha used his social media accounts to confirm his departure from Arua Hill.
“Today I say goodbye to this magnificent club @Arua_Hill. Thank you club chairman, The team manager and his technical team, the players and the fans. It was a pleasure working with you all but time has come for me to say goodbye. Thank you #TogetherWeAreKongolo”
The South Sudan international has been the club captain and very key member of the team since joining them in 2021 on a two year contract.
With a number of defenders linked to moves away from URA FC, the Tax Collectors feel Toha would be a perfect replacement ahead of the upcoming season.
In fact, URA FC want to sign Toha together with his defensive partner Bright Vuni who has already left Arua Hill despite having a year left on his contract.
Toha has established himself as one of the best defenders in the league since 2016 when he burst to the scene with Onduparaka.
It should also be noted that since Toha’s league debut seven years ago, no defender has scored more league goals than him.
He has also previously featured for Vipers SC in an injury-laden stint between 2019 to 2021.
URA FC have been a busy side in the window but have only confirmed signing teenagers Kisiriko Denis Luzige, Kisolo John Innocent, Amis Bwangani and Sekibengo Godfrey.
Besides the highly rated youngsters, Swift Sports reliably understands there is a massive recruitment at the Tax Collectors.
Swift Sports understands goalkeeper Dennis Otim and midfielder Ivan Mayanja already signed with the club from URA FC.
