Uganda Hippos striker John Paul Dembe is in line for a debut with Swedish champions BK Hacken in the Europa League Qualifiers tonight.

Dembe has been named in the Hacken match day squad that will take on Lithuanian side Zalgiris FK at the Bravida Stadium in Gothenburg, Sweden at 8pm.

The Swedish giants come into this second leg encounter leading 3-1 on aggregate having won the reverse fixture in Lithuania.

Dembe was an unused substitute in Hacken’s most recent two games last week; against Varbergs BOIS in the league on Sunday and the first leg against Zalgiris last Thursday.

He earned an inclusion in the senior team after his impressive exploits with the Hacken U19 in the U19 League having scored three goals in the last two games against Malmo FF and Halmstads BK.

The 18-year-old striker officially joined the Swedish champions last month on a six month loan from KCCA FC.

He was identified by the Hacken scouting team at the U20 AFCON tournament held in Egypt early this year.

He garnered attention of the scouts as he scored the second goal as Uganda Hippos beat Central African Republic 2-1 in Group B in Ismailia.

The youngster was also part of the KCCA reserve team that won the Cambiaso Rainbow Tournament held in Tanzania in July last year.

In case of victory tonight, Hacken will set a date with Scotland’s Aberdeen FC in the playoff round where the eventual winning team automatically qualifies for the Europa League Group Stages.
