Kimera, Oyirwoth on target as Gomba beat Buddu to take Semifinal advantage

Record winners Gomba edged Buddu 2-1 in the first leg of their Semifinal contest in the Prestigious Buganda Masaza Cup at Kabulasoke playground on Sunday.

Allan Oryiwoth and Kenneth Kimera were again on target for Felix Ssekabuza’s coached side.

Ayman Twaha scored for the two time competition winners Buddu.

Oryiwoth gave Gomba the lead in the first period from a well converted penalty to send the home fans into delight.

This was Oryiwoth’s fourth goal in the current campaign.

Buddu levelled through their captain Ayman early in the second half heading a perfect Pius Ssebulime cross.

Ayman was however stretched off midway in the second half due to a serious injury.

Kimera fresh from scoring his first goal in the topflight division for Wakiso Giants restored Gomba’s lead in the closing stages of the game.

Gomba need any draw to advance to the final while Buddu must score two unanswered goals to prevail in the return leg that is scheduled for 9th October at Masaka Recreation ground.
