New FUFA Women Super League entrants Wakiso Hill suffered a 1-0 defeat in their first league game against Makerere University at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Sunday.
Noeline Namiiro scored the lone goal that proved to be the difference between both sides in an evenly contested encounter.
Namiiro, formerly at She Corporate, capitalized on a lapse in the Wakiso Hill defense to score her first goal in the Makerere colours in the 58th minute.
Wakiso’s biggest chance of the game came in the 90th minute when Rashida Nankya had a brilliant strike saved by goalkeeper Zahara Nankya who got injured in the process.

In a match watched by Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, the Vipers president, Wakiso couldn’t salvage at least a draw as the referee blew the final whistle.
The Antelopes will seek reprieve next Saturday when they visit She Maroons who comprehensively beat Asubo Gafford Ladies 5-0 in their opener.
Lillian Kasuubo scored a hat trick while Kenyan forward Millicent Namwembe grabbed a brace.
The other games played on match day one saw Kampala Queens grind a 2-1 win over Uganda Martyrs, Kawempe Muslim beat Rines 3-2 while UCU and Lady Doves drew goalless at Mukono.
