Express FC fans have released a statement regarding the incidents that happened after the club’s league game away to UPDF FC on Friday.
After the match suspected Express FC fans allegedly beat assistant Referee Fahad Sekayuba.
In a statement signed by the fans Committee chairman Julius Bakunda, they have condemned the acts of hooliganism and promised to help the Federation find the culprits.
“The fans of Express FC strongly condemn assault of referees and hooliganism.We sympathize with Fahad Sekayiba who was beaten on his way back home after the UPDF VS EXPRESS game in Bombo on Friday 27th October 2023.”
“Express FC fans have received the claims alleged against them, we hope appropriate authorities are conducting investigations.”
“We are treating this problem seriously as fans and ready to help the club together with the Federation in bringing to book the alleged suspects.” Read a statement signed by the club fans Committee chairman.
Following the acts of hooliganism, FUFA has decided to suspend all the league games involving Express FC.
