Ladies dominate October Fortebet Real Stars awards

Five sports personalities were awarded best of October at the Fortebet Real Stars awards at ceremony held on Tuesday morning at Lazio Restaurant in Lugogo.

Ladies dominated October awards were Akello, Ochola, Auma and Nsubuga crowned the winners.

In the basketball Category, Hope Okello win the gong after sweeps end of season awards after JKL Dolphins clinched their third NBL title by defeating KIU Rangers, deservedly was awarded the Mvp trophy and she went on to win Best defensive player, best Rebounder and lastly making the All-Star team for season 2023.

Akello beat KIU Rangers Perus Nyamwenge and city oilers Titus Odeke Lual .

Achola was named best Handball player of October after helping her side move to third  on the Uganda Handball Super League to attain  21 points. Achola scored 29 goals, assisting on 53 occasions and stealing the ball thirteen (13) from the opponents in four games won the award.

While in the Category of Rugby Grace Auma won the gong after helped the Lady Rugby cranes side 7’s sides to finish third at the Rugby Africa Rugby 7s .

She beats peace Lekuru , Gand Sandra Lona Amori .

In Golf Godfrey Nsubuga won after secured the 2023 Uganda Amateur Golf open in a record breaking performance which make him in the icon golfing history books and ranked 300th in the world.

Nsubuga topping Ronald Rugumayo and peace Kabasweka.

In football,  Agenes Nabukenya scored avital goals home and away at the Fifa U20 women world cup qualifiers against Mozambique which help Uganda to progress to next level on aggregate a 8-0 at fufa technical center in Nabukenya scored four goals in four matches of fufa women super league for his side kawempe musulim ladies fc.

Nabukenya come out on top of BUL’s Alex Kitata and NEC FC’s Cromwell Rwothomio.

All the winners of each category were warded with an accolade courtesy of a Jude Colour Solutions branded accolade and Cash prize.
