FUBA names Goran Lojo as Gazelles new head coach

The Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA) has appointed the new head coach of the Uganda Women’s National Basketball team (Gazelles).

Goran Lojo will take over helms as Gazelles head coach replacing Alberto Atuna.

“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition of Bosnian Goran Lojo as our new Gazelles Head Coach.”
“Lojo will take over the Senior Women’s National team.
Congratulations Goran and best of luck as you embark on this new journey.” Said FUBA

Atuna resigned from the time after guiding the Gazelles at the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket tournament in Rwanda.

Lojo is a Bosina and Herzegovina native and comes in with loads of experience.

He has previously managed Bosnia and Herzegovina Women’s senior team and U-18 National team.

At club level, he coached Basket Slovanica Prague in the Czech Republic 1st Division, Filppo Baskets Gottingen (Germany Bundesliga 1, Rutronik Stars Keltern in Germany Bundesliga 1.
