Defending champions Vipers SC made a perfect response to their humbling defeat against KCCA FC two weeks ago with a comfortable 2-0 win over usual bogey side URA FC.

Vipers SC were without 5 of their first team players including first choice goalkeeper Jack Komakech, Yunus Sentamu and Bright Anukani.

URA FC were playing their second match under the fresh tutelage of David Obua who was appointed a fortnight ago. He had drawn the first one 2-2 against Kitara FC

The visitors started on the receiving end and were made to pay for their early lack of concentration after defender Najib Fesali dropped the ball close to the danger zone and was punished by Eric Kambale on 8 minutes.

Vipers were deprived of possession through out but it was they who made the more telling impact on the game with winger Abdul Lumala having a field day.

1-0 is how the game went into half time.

URA returned with more purpose going forward until they got caught on the break and ultimately punished by the lively Lumala to put paid to the game.

Vipers however were forced to finish the final 10 minutes on the back foot after defender Livingston Mulondo recieved marching orders for a second bookable offense.

Another positive for Vipers too is that new signing Allan Okello finally made his debut though it was masked by Mulondo’s red.

Vipers managed to close the gap on leaders BUL to just a single point having garnered 17 from 8 matches.

URA succumb 7th place to Gaddafi who drew with Bright Stars early on in the day.

The two sides will return to action 30th November as Vipers face UPDF in Bombo and URA will host Express FC in Lugazi
