Busoga United 2-1 Kitara FC
Busoga United staged a spirited performance to stun Kitara FC 2-1 at the FUFA Technical Center in Njeru.
Emmanuel Ajo and Jeremy Matata scored for Busoga United while Paul Mucureezi’s penalty turned out to be a consolation for Kitara.
Matata broke the deadlock in the 14th minute with a close range tap in from Ajo’s brilliant assist.
Kitara pushed for a leveller and got it through Mucureezi who perfectly converted from the spot in the 67th minute following a handball by Isaac Isinde.
Ajo restored Busoga’s lead with a brilliant strike after beating two defenders in the 72nd minute.
Moments later Ajo had a chance to make it 3-1 but he tapped the ball off target after the initial effort had hit off the close bar.
Busoga’s 4th win of the season pushed them to 15 points and to the 12th place while Kitara squandered a chance to close in on leaders BUL FC.
Kitara remained second on the table with 26 points from 14 games played.
Kitara will host Soltilo Bright Stars on Friday 5th January while Busoga will visit Vipers on Sunday 7th January.
