Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, Kawempe Muslim SS, Buddo SS were among the victors crowned as the 2024 edition of the Buganda Schools Sports Competitions climaxed at Kawanda Secondary School.
Chief guest Owek. Patrick Luwaga Mugumbule the speaker of Buganda’s Parliament (Lukiiko) and Owek. Robert Serwanga Ssalongo awarded the winning teams.
Uganda Martyrs High Lubaga beat hosts Kawanda SS in the secondary schools football for boys 7-6 in penalty shoot outs following a goalless full-time draw.
Charles Lwanga, William Mazimpaka, Shaban Ali, Emmanuel Eneka, Joel Ssembatya, Najib Magwala and Meddie Kavuma converted their penalties for Uganda Martyrs High Lubaga.
Hassan Senoga, Leon Lukyamuzi, Moses Kahebwa, Stephen Ssesanga, Ariet Deogratious Ronnie Ssekide scored their penalties for Kawanda SS while Stewart Ssebagala was saved by goalkeeper Jeremiah Gwanagamba.
In the secondary schools football final for girls, Agnes Nabukenya and Monica Nanono scored for Kawempe Muslim SS in their 3-0 victory against Uganda Martyrs High Lubaga.
The third goal was a own goal scored by Maureen Kizza.
St Noa Junior School defeated Kampala Grammar Junior to be crowned champions of the primary Schools for boys.
Ian Ssempebwa and Denis Walugembe were on target each for the Entebbe road based school
Buddo Secondary School registered a 30-27 victory over Kawanda Secondary School to emerge champions of Secondary schools Netball.
The winners were awarded with a trophy and medals, all the participating teams recieved jerseys.
