SC Villa will aim to close the gap at the top of the Uganda Premier league with victory over Busoga United on Thursday at Njeru Technical centre.
The 16 time league champions will close the gap to just two if they manage to prevail over Busoga.
Dusan Stojanovic’s men come into this contest after a 2-1 win over Mbarara City in their previous game while their hosts Busoga United suffered a 4-1 defeat to KCCA FC.
Busoga will be seeking to maximize points to keep their survival hopes alive as they are currently third from the bottom.
They come into this game not only struggling to stay in the topflight but have also been hit by financial woes.
Reports indicate that some players miss training sessions due to financial hardships.
SC Villa will be without the suspended duo of Diego Ssemugera and Garvin Kizito Mugweri.
The Jogoos won the first round meeting 2-0, courtesy of goals from Umar Lutalo and Ronald Ssekiganda.
This campaign, SC Villa are still unbeaten away from home and have gone eight games without defeat since the 2-1 loss to KCCA FC in December last year.
