Six time Uganda Premier league champions Vipers SC have appointed former URA FC coach Fred Muhumuza as their new head coach.
Swift Sports Uganda understands that the club hierarchy has decided to part ways with Charles Livingstone Mbabazi following his perpetual absenteeism.
Mbabazi was for a second consecutive game not on the touchline as Vipers prevailed over UPDF FC on Friday at Kitende.
Muhumuza will now take over from Mbabazi who was appointed in January this year.
Earlier this year, Vipers wanted Muhumuza to work as assistant coach to Mbabazi.
Muhumuza will work with Baker Kasule Bakabulindi, Wasswa Richard Sseruyange and Jose Esdras Costa Lopes as his assistants.
Ali Kimera will remain as the Goalkeeping coach at the six time Ugandan champions.
Muhumuza is a CAF B Coaching License Holder who previously featured for SC Villa and Victors in his hey days as a player.
He previously coached Bumate FC and currently coaches Tooro Province in the FUFA Drum tournament.
Vipers are currently second on the Uganda Premier league table with 41 points and next make a short trip to third placed SC Villa on Tuesday at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
