SC Villa will welcome Vipers in their crunch league meeting at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku on Tuesday.
The title rivals meet in a potentially pivotal clash with only one point separating the two sides.
The Venoms are currently third on 41 points with Villa fourth on 40 points.
Vipers will be under the stewardship of acting head coach Richard Wasswa Sseruyange who replaced Charles Livingstone Mbabazi.
The Venoms are aiming for a record third successive league title and come into this contest after a 2-1 win over UPDF FC.
For SC Villa who narrow missed out on the league title last season will be hoping for victory against the reigning champions to give them an advantage in this campaign’s title race. They were held by Busoga United 1-1 in their previous league game.
Victory for Vipers will see them move level on points with leaders Kitara while a win for the record Uganda Premier league champions SC Villa will see them move a point adrift of the top.
Last season, SC Villa prevailed over Vipers courtesy of a Charles Bbaale strike that sent the league to an explosive finish.
In the first round meeting this term both sides played out to a 1-1 stalemate at Kitende.
Either side winning gives them huge sway in a thrilling title race this season.

SC Villa will be boosted by the return of defender Gavin Kizito Mugweri and midfielder Diego Ssemugera who were suspended.
The Jogoos will however, be without young stars Junior Niwamanya, Hakim Mutebi, and Simon Mukisa will not be present due to school engagements.
Vipers SC on the other hand will be without defender their assistant captain Ashiraf Mandela through suspension.
