FUFA Big League side Lugazi FC have part ways with their head coach Richard Makumbi after just five months in charge.
The club confirmed the development on Monday in a statement where they thanked Makumbi for his services
“Lugazi FC announces that head coach Makumbi has left his role at the club by mutual agreement. The decision comes after a thorough evaluation of the team’s performance and future direction.
Makumbi leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as head coach and our very best wishes for the future.”
The development comes after Lugazi’s 1-1 stalemate away to Kyetume FC on Sunday.
Before the stalemate at Kyetume, Lugazi had also drawn against Mbale Heroes and Blacks Power respectively.
Makumbi replaced William Kyeswa as head coach in November last year.
Meanwhile, Lugazi FC have also confirmed assistant coach Gerald Efit as the interim head coach.
Makumbi leaves Lugazi in second place on the FUFA Big League table with 37 points and six adrift of leaders Police FC.
