URA FC are set to confirm the appointment of Alex Isabirye as their new head coach, Swift Sports understands.

Isabirye is set to fill the void left by David Obua who was relieved of his coaching duties at the club in April.

The club has been under the temporary tutelage of Robert Mukasa who was elevated to the role of an interim coach until the end of the season.

Isabirye who is set to return to the Tax Collectors, has been unattached since leaving Express FC in March.

He previously played and coached URA, in fact, he is the coach who won the club’s last league title in 2011.

As a head coach, Isabirye has won two league titles including one with Vipers last season, and four Uganda Cups.

He has also had stints with BUL FC, Soana, Kyetume, Kirinya JSS, Buganda Province and Somalia giants Horsed FC among others.

His immediate task will be guiding the club back to rails following a series of unconvincing results in the recent past.
