Uganda Cranes to be without two key players against Botswana

Uganda Cranes will be without captain Khalid Aucho and forward Rogers Mato for their World Cup qualifier against Botswana on Friday night at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

Aucho who is currently with the team suffered an injury during Yanga’s triumph over Azam during the CRDB Federation Cup Final at Amaan Complex Stadium in Zanzibar on Sunday.

“I was thrilled to join the team, but unfortunately, my MRI results revealed a setback. However, I want to assure you that the rest of the team is in top form and ready to give their all.” Aucho said during the press briefing at FUFA Complex on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Uganda Cranes head coach Paul Put confirmed that Mato who features for Brera Strumica in North Macedonia, faced travel issues on his way to Uganda and will definitely miss the contest against Botswana.
