The Buganda Masaza Cup organizing Committee has confirmed the date, venue and teams that will lock horns in the opening game.
This year’s opener will be a Bulange group contest between defending champions Bulemeezi against Buluuli at Kosovo, Kasana playground on 22nd June, 2024.
Bulemeezi beat record competition winners Gomba 1-0 to the 2023 Masaza Cup title in the final that was played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
This year, Bulemeezi are under the stewardship of Paul Nkata who replaced Ibrahim Kirya.
Reigning champions Bulemeezi have been paired in Bulange group alongside Buddu, Kyadondo, Buluuli, Butambala and Bugerere.
They have won the championship three times in 2012, 2019 and lately in 2023.
Meanwhile, Buluuli Ssaza team will be handled by former Uganda Cranes player Anthony Bongoole and will be seeking for their first Masaza Cup triumph since 2011.
