Uganda Hippos forward Abas Kyeyune has completed a transfer from SC Villa to Egyptian side Cleopatra Ceremica.

Kyeyune signed a contract of three years with the Egyptian Premier League club.

He garnered continental attention with his exploits during the All Africa Games held in March this year in Ghana.

The budding winger had one year left on his contract with SC Villa and leaves the club shortly after winning the long-awaited league title.

He has risen through the ranks from the first ever U15 National Team in 2019. Kyeyune was the top scorer (with nine goals) of the inaugural CECAFA U15 tournament held in Eritrea that year.

Kyeyune who is a former KJT player, made his Uganda Premier League debut with UPDF FC in the 2022/23 season.

He automatically becomes the fifth Ugandan player in the Egyptian Premier League this season.

Others are; Joseph Ochaya and Joackiam Ojera (both at Arab Contractors), Allan Kyambadde (El Dakhleya) and Travis Mutyaba of Zamalek.

Ceremica Cleopatra is a club based in Giza, founded 17 years ago in 2007.

The club’s major silverware is the Egyptian League Cup trophy (like the EFL Cup in England) which they won last year.
