The first edition of the Latif Sebaggala Kawempe Empya Division Cup Football tournament will officially kickoff on Friday, 28th June at Kataka playground in Kawempe.
According to the organisers led by Hon Latif Sebaggala the competition has attracted over 70 teams in Kawempe Division.
“The Almighty has enabled us organise this tournament. I am a sports love and during my time as Member of Parliament I used to organize football tournaments. I believe that through the Latif Kawempe Division Cup many youths will have their talents developed.”
“It will also help eradicate criminality in Kawempe Division since the youths will be more involved in the competition than engaging themselves into criminality.” Said Sebaggala.
The draws of the competition were held on Thursday at Twin Towers Hotel, Kavule during the meeting that involved team managers.
It will run for the next three months across particular Playgrounds in Kawempe with the overall winner walking away with a BUL, set of Jersey and cash prize worth Shs1M.
