Midfielder Siraje Ssentamu is in advanced stages of reaching a compromise with NEC FC, Swift Sports Uganda understands.
The experienced midfielder is among the players who were released by Vipers SC after the end of last season.
This website can reliably confirm that Ssentamu is close to agreeing terms to sign with the Hussein Mbalangu coached side.
During the 2023/24 season, Ssentamu struggled for playing time most so in the second round due to the emergency of youngster Frank Katongole as well as experienced Patrick Mbowa.
The defensive midfielder is a product of St.Mary’s Kitende the feeder of Vipers senior team and has also previously featured for URA FC.
NEC FC have already signed Viane Ssekajugo from URA FC, FUFA Big League top scorer Dickson Niwamanya from Booma FC, Isma Kawawulo from Express FC, veteran midfielder Muzamir Mutyaba and are also interested in signing goalkeeper Hannington Ssebwalunyo and winger Martin Kizza among others.
