Erisa Sekisambu, Yayo Lutimba and former Uganda Cranes midfielder Mike Sserumagga have revealed that Ugandan coaches force players into early retirement.

While appearing on YouTube Channel Uganda Fan TV, the trio put the blame for early retirement on Ugandan coaches.

According to Sekisambu a former Express, Vipers and SC Villa player, coaches in the Ugandan league don’t know how to handle players just like in other topflight leagues across the world

“The coaches force us into early retirement, once you spend some good time in the league, they will start taking you as someone very old. Just look at Sundowns, Onyango is still playing and if he was still here, maybe he would be in office at FUFA house. The way they handle him at Sundowns, is an asset to them which is not the case here.” Said Sekisambu

Sserumagga a former Uganda Cranes midfielder asserted that Ugandan coaches think it’s easier to sell young players than the old ones

“I have made my research but what I observed is that our coaches think it’s easier to sell young players than those they think are old, yet I see even in topflight leagues across the world, old players are still playing and get good deals as well.” Said Sserumagga

Lutimba believes that once a player in Uganda players in the same team as the seniors, he will be dubbed as a old player

“Personally, I played with some senior players in several teams yet I was younger than them but people thought that I was also in the same age category as my seniors.

Lutimba featured for Express FC, URA FC, Vipers SC, SC Villa among others.
