KCCA FC will be eyeing a positive start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier league campaign when they host four time league champions URA FC in the opener on Friday at Lugogo.
The Kasasiro Boys finished 5th last season while their visitors URA FC were 8th.
Abdallah Mubiru will be targeting a competitive team in his full campaign in charge of the 13 time league champions.
“We want to start the league on a positive note as this gives you momentum. We have prepared well and hopefully the players can execute the things we have been working on during pre season. We will not have Usama Arafat as he is recovering from a knock he suffered in pre-season but the rest of the squad is available to represent the club.” Said Mubiru
URA on the other hand are under the stewardship of Alex Isabirye Musongola the man to have guided them to their last league triumph in 2011.
With a serial winner in Isabirye, the tax collectors are expected to challenge for the championship this season.
The previous meeting between the two sides at Lugogo ended in a 3-2 victory for the Kasasiro Boys.
URA however won the return fixture that was played at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.

New signings Derrick Nsibambi and Steven Munguchi are expected to feature for the hosts.
Usama Arafat Kiiza will miss the contest due to a knock.
For URA FC, custodian Derrick Ochan will be facing his former paymasters. Other new recruits Faizo Matovu, Abraham Tusubira, Bright Vuni, George Masembe, and Isma Mugulusi, are also available for selection.
The game however comes too early for Denis Kisiriko, who just returned to URA training this week.
