The 2024/25 Pepsi University Football League officially kicked off on Tuesday with UCU and St.Lawrence playing out to a 1-1 stalemate in Mukono.
ISBAT University who are taking part in the competition have unveiled a 25-man squad that will compete in this season’s competition.
During a press briefing on Thursday, the University’s Sports Tutor Musa Fahad is hopeful that they will have a successful tournament
“We are going to showcase that we are the light of the world. The players are not just going to kick the ball but also set their careers in motion.” Said Musa
Head coach Edrine Raston is optimistic that they will reach the knockout phase of the event
We have a good squad of 25 players that we believe will compete in the tournament. Last season our journey ended at the group phase but this time roundmmm, this time we have a lot of changes, last time we are optimistic that we will reach the knockout stage.”
ISBAT University is group A alongside reigning champions, Nkumba University, Busitema University and Islamic University in Uganda.
They will kickoff their campaign against defending champions Nkumba University and this season they will host their games at Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku.
