Striker Juliet Nalukenge marked her debut for Kayserispor Women Football with a goal in a 1-1 draw against Golbasi Belediye Spor in the Turkish 2nd division on Sunday 2nd March.
Nalukenge who joined the Turkish club last month, made her arrival felt with a crucial goal to give Kayserispor a deserved lead before eventually settling for a stalemate at full-time.
Kayserispor and Golbasi Belediye Spor were facing off in the third round of the promotional playoffs as both sides continue to vie for promotion from the second tier to the topflight league.
Nalukenge who is returning to action after a lengthy lay off, says her immediate aim is to score more goals and help Kayserispor achieve elevation.
” I’m so glad that I got off to a scoring start. I want to score as many goals as I can as I settle in properly.” Nalukenge briefly told this writer.
Joining Kayserispor automatically made Nalukenge the second Ugandan player at the club, after forward Laki Otandeka Kanyesigye who joined from Doncaster Rovers Belles early last month.
Kayserispor is Nalukenge’s third club since leaving Uganda in 2021, having played for Apollon Ladies until last year as well as AMOK Chrysomolia (on loan) in Cyprus.
Nalukenge will be expected to return to action on Saturday 8th March as Kayserispor host Sakarya Kadin FK as the promotional playoffs continue.
