Vipers SC stretched their lead at the top of the Uganda Premier league with a narrow 1-0 win over Police FC on Thursday at Kavumba recreation grounds.
Yunus Sentamu scored the all important goal in a game of few scoring opportunities.
Sentamu gave the Venoms the lead three minutes after recess when he was set up by his skipper Allan Okello.
Earlier on, Sentamu had a goal cancelled for offside in the 27th minute of the contest.
The Venoms held on to the maximum points and having recorded their seventh consecutive win. They also remain unbeaten since their opening day defeat to NEC FC.
The six time league champions are now top of the table with 46 points, six above second placed NEC FC who face off with Wakiso Giants on Friday.
Simon Peter Mugerwa’s Police FC remain winless since their win over Wakiso Giants in December last year, they are 13th on 20 points.
